Surviving the Pain of Breaking Up

It finally happened… the awful, impending, and doomed breakup. It feels awful, and you feel alone. Getting dumped is one of the worst feelings there is, and yet it does pass. Anyone who has ever been through a break up will tell you that in the moment the pain is gut wrenching, but in time it does fade. So what can you do in the mean time? How do you make it through this time? The very best advice is to feel your pain in order to heal to find love again. The worst part of breaking up is the reality that you have to feel the pain in order to get to the healing. It is only through feeling the pain, and letting it go that we can move into the healing phase of forgiveness. Forgiveness allows our hearts to open, and then we can find love again.

All of us have one big break up that lingers in our hearts over time- one person in our life who was hard to forget, hard to forgive, and definitely difficult to bounce back from. When you have been hurt, one of the greatest things you can give yourself is some perspective. When the pain is the worst, the last thing you really want to think about is the truth about your ex. This is particularly true if you are still hoping to reconcile with your ex.
